The impressive simplicity of a convincing system:

 

The sun shines on your house and heats the water-antifreeze mixture in the solar collectors fitted to your roof. This "solar fluid” is delivered to the heat storage unit of the heating system by a pump. The design and capacity of this heat storage unit will determine whether solar power is to be used for heating or hot water. In each case, heat will be conserved in the wellinsulated storage unit for a number of days, and will be ready for the application required.

ProSun: hot water for cool customers

The ProSun system is ideal for water heating in a detached or semi-detached house. The EcoStar flat plate solar collector is perfectly adapted for the 300l or 400l solar power storage unit. The pre-installed solar power unit and the ready-wired solar controller ensure rapid and costeffective installation. Every year, ProSun solar power installations generate savings of up to 3,000 litres of heating oil, with a reduction of some 16 tonnes in carbon dioxide emissions over a 20-year operating lifetime.

 





Functional description

Incoming sunlight is converted into heat in the solar collector, heating the solar fluid (water-glycol mixture) contained therein. The circulating pump delivers the hot fluid to the heat exchangers in the solar power storage unit. Here, solar heat energy is transferred to the service water. The cooled fluid flows back into the collectors. The solar controller compares the temperatures in the collector and the solar power storage unit. The circulating pump will only be switched on where the temperature in the collector is higher than that in the storage unit. During periods of insufficient solar radiation, the heating boiler will heat the upper part of the storage unit to the desired hot water temperature via the second heat exchanger.









ProDuo: low-cost entry into solar space heating

ProDuo solar installations harness solar power for hot water and space heating at the same time. Solar heating works most effectively on cool  summer days, in the early part of the year and in autumn. The diagram shows the substantial contribution that can be made by solar power to energy requirements for domestic heating. The twin storage unit, with its total capacity of 750/950 litres can store more than twice the heat of a service water boiler of 300/400 litre capacity. During fine weather, the twin storage unit has a higher buffer capacity for surplus energy, and can cover as a result longer periods of poor weather .





Functional description

Hot fluid from the collector is delivered to the heat exchanger in the twin storage unit by the circulating pump. Here, solar heat energy is transferred to the heating water. The cooled fluid flows back into the collectors. The service water boiler is installed into the top end of the twin storage unit, and spans the complete height of this storage unit. The service water boiler has a continuous storage capacity of 250 litres of hot water. The cold water supply and the heating return flow into the bottom of the storage unit and ensure that the solar collectors are able to work at optimum efficiency at all times. During periods of insufficient solar radiation, the heating boiler will heat the upper part of the twin storage unit to the desired hot water temperature.









ProTherm: A combination of talents, jack of all

The ProTherm solar power installation combines hot water and space heating in a central buffer storage installation. This improves both the exploitation of solar power and the efficiency of the heating boiler. The ProTherm collector can be extended in stages up to a surface area of 42 m2. The storage  colume can be expanded from 750 to 2000 (ProTherm Nova)litres. The ProTherm stratified storage unit combines the functions of the service water boiler and the heating buffer tank. This reduces the costs of the conventional heating technology used and simplifies the entire installation.

 





Functional description

Solar heat energy generated in the collectors is transferred to the storage system in the external plate-type heat exchanger of the transfer unit. This system allows the transmission of the very high thermal capacity of collectors of large surface area. The solar controller governs the operation of the two reversing valves in such a way that, depending upon the temperature and solar radiation, the feed is routed to either the central or the upper section of the stratified storage unit. This increases the exploitation of solar energy by up to 20%, and improves the temperature stratification in the storage unit. The corrugated stainless steel pipe, which runs the entire length of the torage unit, provides the most convenient and hygienic option as a flow heater for hot water. The very high surface area of the corrugated pipe ensures the reliability of the hot water supply, even for very heavy users.
